The Valley of Flowers National Park is a mesmerizing UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Places to visit in Valley of Flowers

Itinerary

Day 1: Haridwar/Rishikesh to Joshimath
  • Depart early in the morning for a scenic drive to Joshimath.
  • Enroute, visit Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers converge to form the Ganges.
  • Reach Joshimath by evening and rest for the night.
Day 2: Joshimath to Govindghat to Ghangaria
  • Drive to Govindghat and start the trek to Ghangaria, the base camp for Valley of Flowers.
  • The trek is approximately 13 km and can take around 6-7 hours, depending on your pace.
  • Ghangaria is a small settlement with basic accommodation options.
Day 3 : Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers and back
  • Early morning start for the Valley of Flowers. It’s about a 5 km trek from Ghangaria.
  • Spend the day exploring the valley, marveling at the diverse flora and breathtaking landscapes.
  • Return to Ghangaria in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and back
  • Trek to Hemkund Sahib, a revered Sikh shrine situated at an altitude of 4,329 meters.
  • The trek is around 6 km and can be challenging due to the altitude. Take your time and acclimatize.
  • Spend some time at Hemkund Sahib and then return to Ghangaria.
Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat and back to Joshimath
  • Descend to Govindghat and drive back to Joshimath.
  • Rest and relax in Joshimath after the trek.
Day 5: Joshimath to Rishikesh/Haridwar
  • Depart from Joshimath for the return journey to Rishikesh or Haridwar.
